Is Choice DSL as reliable as cable or dial-up?
Absolutely! In some cases Choice wireless Internet is more reliable. With Choice you’ll enjoy an always-on, always-secure connection. Choice service is not dependant on a telephone line so you don’t have to worry about loosing service if your phone goes out or tying up your phone when you are on the internet.
I’m not sure about this wireless technology, how does Choice get me connected?
I’m not sure about this wireless technology, how does Choice get me connected?
Choice uses state-of-the-art wireless technology to transmit signals to and from your modem on fully licensed and protected frequencies. Your connection is always on and always secure.
What issues could impact my ability to receive Choice signals?
You must be within the Choice service area to receive the signal and must have clear line-of-sight to the tower from your location. It is rare, but possible, to be within the coverage area but not able to receive a signal due to unusual geography or to be within the coverage area but not adequately receive signal due to unexpected circumstances.

If you have metal window screens or bars on your windows you may not be able to receive an optimum signal. In some cases you may need to position your modem in a different location in your home or business. Placing your modem by an open window will help ensure optimum service.

*Note: there are plans to expand our coverage areas with new towers. Watch for announcements in your local papers.
How does Choice’s speed compare to dial-up and other high-speed providers?
Choice offers multiple packages to best serve your needs. Our fastest package provides a broadband connection of 1.024 Mbs. That’s 25 times faster than typical dial-up.
Is it easy to set up my own Choice service?
Yes! There is no software to download and no technician to wait for. Just go to the "How It Works Page" and follow the simple instructions. If you have problems, call our technical support team and we will be happy to help you.
How secure is the connection? Is it more secure than a cable or wireless service from other providers?
Your Choice connection is very secure. That’s because Choice wireless uses transmission protocols with a built in secure wireless data transmission standard. In addition, Choice wireless operates exclusively within the FCC licensed frequency spectrum. Since Choice is the only operator permitted to transmit within this frequency spectrum, you can be certain that the connection is secure and free from interference. Other operators transmit in common carrier unlicensed frequency spectrums which make them vulnerable to interference, scanning and packet interception.
What if I’m unsure of how much speed I will need or want to change my package?
No problem! With Choice DSL you can upgrade your package on the phone with no activation or change fees. Just ask one of our Customer Service Representatives to help you pick the package that is right for you.
What if I have more than one computer? Can I connect all of them to the service at the same time?
Certainly. Using a router or wireless access point, multiple users can be online at the same time. We can help you understand the best way to connect multiple computers.

What is an IP address?
It is very similar to your home address. Every computer that communicates over the Internet is assigned an IP address. This address uniquely identifies the device and distinguishes it from other computers on the Internet.

A static IP address is a number that’s assigned to a computer by an Internet service provider to be its permanent address on the Internet. Dynamic IP addressing, or DHCP, provides a different IP address each time you connect to the Internet. Dynamic IP addresses are kept in a pool and are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
